Treatment Plants

How much does an ETP plant cost in Pune?

Effluent treatment plant (ETP) — SGM Enviro, Pune

Short answer: any number quoted before analysing your effluent is a guess. Two factories of the same size can need ETPs that differ in cost by several times, because the plant is designed around what is in your wastewater, not around your factory's square footage. Here is what actually decides the price, so you can judge quotes properly.

The five things that decide ETP cost

  1. Effluent load and character. The volume (KLD - kilolitres per day) sets the plant’s size, but the composition sets its complexity. High COD/BOD, oil and grease, heavy metals or dyes each demand specific treatment stages. A lab analysis of your actual effluent is where honest pricing starts.
  2. Treatment stages required. A simple physico-chemical setup is one budget; add biological treatment, and it is another; add tertiary treatment or Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), and it is a different project entirely. Your MPCB consent conditions often dictate the minimum - which is why the consent and the plant design should be handled together.
  3. Discharge norms you must meet. Where your treated water goes (drain, river, land, reuse) decides the outlet standards, and tighter standards mean more treatment stages. MPCB consent conditions specify this for your unit.
  4. Materials and automation. Civil construction versus steel tanks, manual versus automated dosing, brand of pumps and blowers - each choice moves the price. Cheaper builds usually pay it back in operating costs and breakdowns.
  5. What is NOT in the quote. Erection, commissioning, trial runs, operator training, and the first year’s maintenance are where low quotes hide their real price. Always compare quotes on the total, not the headline.

Running cost matters more than you think

An ETP runs every working day for years. Power, chemicals, manpower and sludge disposal often cost more over five years than the plant itself. When comparing vendors, ask each for an operating cost estimate per month - a slightly costlier plant with lower running costs usually wins.

How to get a real number for your unit

Send us three things: your effluent volume per day (or production capacity if you do not know it), what you manufacture, and your MPCB consent copy if you have one. With that we can assess the treatment stages your unit actually needs and give you a realistic figure - and because SGM Enviro handles both MPCB consents and treatment plants, the plant we design is the one your consent conditions require. Nothing more, nothing less.
